HCA Healthcare

6 world-renowned hospitals

HCA UK has six internationally renowned private hospitals in London that are supported by a range of outpatient and diagnostic facilities. Our London hospitals, including The Portland Hospital, the UK’s only private hospital dedicated to the care of women and children, are a destination of choice for patients looking for excellent clinical care.

795 inpatient beds across London

Over 100 intensive care beds, including specialist NICU and SCBU facilities for infants

Over 6,000 clinicians, including over 3,000 consultants and 2,000 nurses

At HCA Healthcare UK, our clinicians work in specialist multidisciplinary teams to provide personalised care to patients across a range of specialities, including complex paediatrics, oncology, cardiology, orthopaedics, organ transplant surgery and neurorehabilitation. Our facilities include The Portland Hospital, the UK’s only private hospital dedicated to the care of women and children.

We invest heavily in the latest technologies and research to offer our patients innovations that help speed up their recoveries, including 14 surgical robotic systems. Our consultants have pioneered their use across a multitude of procedures. Our partnerships with the NHS and our research at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute mean we’re helping drive clinical research and expanding access to our services to as many patient groups as possible.

Our HCA UK International Contact Centre extends this accessibility to patients across the globe, whether treatment is government sponsored, self-funded or insured. We offer a 24/7 service for a quick response to meet the needs of any patient. Our teams manage all time-critical cases including medical evacuations and transfers from hospitals around the world, particularly from the Middle East and North Africa.

Registered with the UK’s healthcare regulator, the CQC, they have facilitated international transfers from over 60 countries to date.

Our dedicated teams of patient liaison staff are based at our International Patient Centres located in each hospital to ensure maximum comfort and convenience for all patients, family members and travelling companions. This team is underpinned by our wider infrastructure to support international patients and manages every aspect of the patient’s healthcare journey, from the moment of referral until they are safely discharged back to country, and beyond.

  • Exceptional end-to-end clinical care

We’re dedicated to ensuring our patients receive care that’s tailored to them at every stage of their treatment journey. Our patients benefit from the latest treatment innovations, the highest clinical standards and teams of leading clinicians.

We lead the way in the private sector in terms of CQC ratings, with all our hospitals rated ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’.

Renowned for our complex care across clinical specialties, we offer a safe, compassionate environment for patients when they need us most. It’s a privilege we take seriously and work towards every day. And it’s the reason HCA UK facilities rank so highly in terms of patient satisfaction, trust and staff engagement.

  • Unique multidisciplinary approach

Our clinicians helped establish multidisciplinary practice in the UK private sector, and through continually working to refine how our specialists work together, we can ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Through our multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), we bring together the relevant consultants, subspecialists, clinical nurse specialists and therapists to share their expertise for each patient’s care. This approach means that all treatment decisions are based on the shared insights of some of the UK’s leading experts.

Our MDT approach is central to our ability to uphold the highest safety standards for the most complex patient needs. It’s what drives our reputation for clinical excellence, and is a key reason why leading consultants bring their most serious cases to HCA UK.

  • Innovation that changes outcomes

Driving our clinical approach is innovation. We strive to offer our patients the very latest advancements in medicine, from cutting-edge diagnostics to pioneering surgical techniques, offering a range of new treatment modalities across all specialties.

Through more accurate diagnoses and surgical techniques that are more precise than ever, we can get our patients back home sooner and help improve their recovery times.
